Downpipes
Downpipes are an essential part of your guttering system.
While the gutters collect the rain that runs off your roof, it is up to the downpipes to take the water from the gutters and dispose of it into your soak wells. If your downpipes are not working efficiently, your gutters will overflow and you will start to see dark staining on your eave linings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have enough downpipes?
It really depends on the amount of roof area being serviced by your existing downpipes. If you are concerned, give us a call to arrange a free consultation.
Which downpipes should we use?
The two basic types of downpipes are round and rectangular. The difference is mainly cosmetic, so the decision is yours. We can size them to suit your requirements.
What sizes do downpipes come in?
For round downpipes, we suggest either 75mm or 100mm Colorbond downpipes. For rectangular, we primarily use 95x45mm (standard on most new homes), 100x75mm, great for extra flow in problem areas, and 100x100mm – for even greater flow.
What Colours do they come in?
Downpipes can be supplied in all 22 Colorbond colours or in plain Zincalume (ready for painting).
Can we add extra downpipes?
You sure can. In the past, many homes were built with insufficient downpipes, we can advise if and where additional downpipes will be helpful.
What about PVC?
90mm PVC is often used when connecting water tanks to your gutters. We do recommend painting the PVC to help protect it from UV light, which can make them brittle over time.
